AThens, GA: 2-Day Vehicles Tactics Course

SOB Tactical 2 Day Vehicle Tactics Course After Actions Review      I am a Detective assigned to a Narcotics Task Force in NC. We do quite a bit of work around and in vehicles, so I had been trying to find a vehicle tactics class with a reputable instructor. I am a hard sell for most instructors, as I am particular about who I learn from. After having been a cop for many years, as well as a former soldier, I heavily scrutinize who has the background that I can learn from. I heard about John several years ago from...

AAR-Vehicle Tactics-June 2016-Princeton, NJ Instructor: John McPhee   I have previously attended several classes with Shrek in the past, including handgun, carbine and scoped carbine.  Shrek has previously dispelled firearms myths in my past class and I looked forward to learning what was actually cover on a vehicle and what wasn’t. This class was entirely made up of LEO’s from the NYC metro area, with everyone turning out to be squared away, and no observed safety violations.   I ran a Glock 19 with Hornaday Critical Duty 135g and an 11.5” Colt Commando with 62g green tip for the course. ...

I had a response to the original Facebook post but can't respond......do here are my thoughts I read the Facebook post by Abner Miranda where he provided a link (http://www.sparrowdefense.com/course-review-sheriff-of-baghdad-2-day-vehicle-tactics-class) to Sparrow Defense’s AAR (After Action Review) for the Sheriff of Baghdad’s 2 Day Tactical Vehicle Class written by Clark Sparrow.  The travesties in both the Facebook post and the AAR had to be a joke because both were filled with inaccuracies, attempts to discredit a highly respected instructor with a strong following, and flat out lies. First….this do nothing ass wipe, Abner Miranda, actually calls out Shrek and infers...

I'm not a high speed guy but I know what I saw. This class was not unsafe but it was different.  SOB always teaches from a "big boy" standpoint. You have to be careful on your own. Just like in the street you are responsible for every round. After 17 years doing carstops, Narcotics apprehensions, high risk warrant service and a whole lot of other crap either you get used to being around firearms or you don't. There was nothing that exceeded my safety level- but that's a subjective standard. Some people are more afraid than others. The guy who...

2-Day Vehicles Tactics Course

I recently took the Vehicle Tactics Course with John McPhee/SOB Tactical in Athens, GA and couldn't have been more impressed with the level of instruction and activities during the course.     The hotel I stayed in was about a 20 minute drive to the range and the day started off with the class meeting and greeting with John and everyone getting their gear ready.  We did a quick range overview and safety briefing with John and the class organizer who was responsible for supervising the range.  John gave us a quick itinerary of the next 2 days and how...
